DE LA FONTAINE, designated every year since 2021 for the prestigious distinction of Best Managed Companies in Canada, is looking for an IT Support Technician who will report to the IT Manager. The IT Support Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving common technical issues, as well as providing support to workstations in production and in the office.

Job Description:

More specifically, he or she will be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing and resolving common hardware and software issues (workstations, printers, barcode scanners, etc.);
  • Escalating complex incidents to Level 2 when necessary;
  • Providing technical support for production floor workstations (industrial monitors, terminals, industrial printers, etc.);
  • Ensuring the proper functioning of production-related systems (display screens, weighing systems, etc.);
  • Following restart and connectivity testing procedures in the event of an outage;
  • Being available for on-call technical support outside of business hours;
  • Collaborating with the IT team to improve processes.

You are the person we are looking for if you have the following skills and qualities:

  • Diploma of Professional Studies (DEP) or Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEC) in Computer Science, or Diploma of Professional Studies (DEP) in Electromechanics with an interest in IT, or equivalent relevant experience;
  • 0 to 4 years of experience in a similar position (an asset);
  • Resourcefulness, patience, and autonomy, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Strong customer service orientation and teamwork;
  • Experience in a manufacturing company, including management of factory computers and scanners (an asset);
  • Proficiency in O365, Windows 10/11, InTune, or a fleet management tool;
  • Understanding of basic IP networks: DHCP, DNS, ping, IPConfig;
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of network printers;
  • Understanding of Windows security updates;
  • Strong level 1 problem-solving skills;
  • Availability to work on call, including outside of normal business hours;
  • Bilingualism in spoken and written English-French.*
